Individual Therapy

Do you have that nagging feeling…

… that you’re not good enough?

… or that things will always be like this?

Do you feel as though it’s too late?

… or that nothing will help?

Somedays you feel pretty good… but other days it feels as though you’re walking around with a dark cloud all around you.

I understand.

Life can feel like one long uphill battle filled with anxiety, depression, sleepless nights, and lots of self-doubt.

So many things happened that you did not expect.

Life is not what you thought it would be.

On the outside, you’re successful but the recent loss of a loved one, a traumatic event, the loss of a relationship that really mattered brought everything back up.

You thought you left your childhood issues behind you, but suddenly the closet door that held the memories opened – and they all spilled out.

It’s been hard. You thought you had it under control. The losses have caused you to question life and doubt yourself.

You’ve been able to manage it all before – but, suddenly, you can’t.

You cry yourself to sleep, worry about the future all the time, and spend a lot of time thinking, “Maybe if I did things differently in the past, things wouldn’t have turned out this way.”

You hurt so bad, and deep down inside you’re scared.

You get anxious when you get around crowds and find it hard to “think on the bright side.”

It’s becoming too much. You’re tired of planning your life around your anxiety and depression.

You’re ready to experience a new life.

There are two main approaches we’ll use for therapy…

Both have been proven effective by the research. They’re called EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy).

EMDR is well known for its ability to help change our deepest negative beliefs and transform the traumas that are holding us back.

When we’ve experienced a trauma, whether big or small, the event lodges into the right side of our brain. We can remember the sights, sounds, smells, and body sensations as if the event happened yesterday.

EMDR helps to target the stored memories that are causing triggers, negative beliefs, anxiety, and depression. Through left/right tapping, EMDR will help the traumatic memories feel less like they are currently happening and move them to the past where they belong. EMDR will help target those areas that talk therapy struggles to reach.

Along with EMDR, we will use CBT to help you develop the skill of learning to “think about what you’re thinking about.” You know, those nagging thoughts of “I’m not good enough, I have no real friends, I’m all alone, etc.”

You will learn the skill of challenging and replacing those nagging negative thoughts with thoughts that are more reality-based and positive. Through CBT you will learn to manage your mood by managing your thoughts.

Individualized treatment tailored to meet your goals….

I am here for you.

Through patient guidance and thoughtful teaching, you will blossom into a healthy, strong individual.

You will become the best version of you. You are uniquely created, and together we will help you discover what makes you great.

I will help you discover what is keeping you in disappointing cycles… why it feels like you’re on a hamster wheel with no end in sight.

You’ll learn healthy relationship patterns, how to give and receive love, and how to handle life’s circumstances both good and bad. Together, we will explore your negative beliefs about yourself and the world, and teach you skills for changing those beliefs.

The possibilities for change are endless. You can reach your dreams.

You CAN experience joy and laughter again.

By healing the pain of the past, you will be stronger, more confident, and able to handle all the ups and downs of life.
